Get A Glowing Skin With Turmeric!

I'm a big fan of turmeric for very good reasons such as soothing for flu, depressions, insomnia; headaches, fights allergies, fight inflammation. One of the most restorative foods you can add to your diet.

There is a long list of skin care benefits associated with turmeric, including the treatment of acne blemishes, blackheads, dark spots and hyperpigmentation and other skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. It helps heal and prevent dry skin, and to slow the skin aging process, and is used to diminish wrinkles, keep skin supple and improve skin’s elasticity. This sunny bright spice is also being used as an ingredient in sunscreens. It is used daily by East Indian women as a facial cleanser and exfoliant.

For a wrinkle reducer and skin brightener: A mixture of milk and turmeric is good for fine lines and wrinkles. Mix turmeric powder and honey with raw milk and tomato juice, enough to form a paste, and apply to face and neck for 30 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Acne treatment: Turmeric is used for acne because of its antiseptic and antibacterial properties that fight pimples and breakouts. It removes redness from acne and other types of scarring, reduces inflammation and evens out skin discolorations. Some people drink the spice as a tea with water or milk to help prevent acne outbreaks. If turmeric tea doesn’t sound very palatable to you, try mixing turmeric with plain water or coconut or sesame oil, and dab onto blemishes and acne scars. You can also mix a small about of turmeric with lemon or cucumber juice (just a few drops to make a paste) and leave on the marks for 10-15 minutes.

Health and Beauty Benefits of Dates

Dates have long been used as sweeteners and a quick snack, or meal even, for centuries. They are cholesterol-free and very low in fat. Plus they’re energy boosters, making them a suitable snack for the health-conscious. Also, they’re rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, A1 and C, proteins, dietary fiber, iron (11 percent), potassium (16 percent), calcium, manganese, copper, and magnesium. The soluble and insoluble fibers and amino acids present in dates can also help to improve the digestive system.
Dates is a fruit that can be consumed directly without addition of any other ingredient. It is also sweet and thus lazy girls like me can just pop one or two anytime we want.
Now let me list down the various health benefits of dates:
  • Dates help a lot in preventing constipation.
  • People with intestinal disorders have been advised to take dates.
  • If you are very skinny and you want to put on weight, then take this healthy sweet fruit with milk.
  • People with heart problems have also been advised to take dates on a regular basis.

  • Dates helps in good muscle development.

  • Dates also helps in reducing cholesterol.
  • Dates is known to slow the process of tooth decay.
The benefits of dates goes on and on. It is a great substitute for sugar. I usually make milk shakes using dates and not sugar and thus I can serve the same to people of all age groups from kids to elderly people.  These dates are also available in the form of syrup and the same can be taken directly either like two spoons per day or we can even add that to our milk, juice, desserts and other dishes. It not only adds just taste to the food but also lot of health benefits.
To have healthy skin and hair is not an easy task in today’s busy life and for people like us, dates is our saviour.  Just take a couple of dates everyday and you can see a drastic transformation in your skin and hair. Let me list out the various ways you can take dates.

Want a natural spa treatment?

Once a week for 20 minutes, sit in a hot bath that contains a handful of Epsom or sea salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil and a half cup of baking soda. This combo draws out toxins, lowers stress-related hormones and balances your pH levels.

My favourite way to de-stress and detox at the end of a long week. Detoxing is so important because toxins are everywhere. They are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the medications we take and in the water we drink. Toxins cause irritation, harm and destruction in the body if left unchecked.

Detoxifying is in the body's way of removing and metabolising these dangerous compounds. A detox bath encourages the body to efficiently flush our toxins.
